Value Is Now Set Onboard — Not at Landing
Helping the fleet understand where value is now won or lost — and how onboard control increasingly determines return.
This Month - What's Changed
April 2026
- Traceability now active across UK–EU exports
- Value confirmed to sit in handling and temperature control
- Annadale II progressing next-stage development within a refitted vessel
- The programme now spans chilled operations and is progressing into freezer-aligned vessel configurations.
- Pressure increasing across key fisheries

What’s Happening Now
Tidal Shift | Fisherman’s Briefing
What’s changing across the fleet right now
Traceability is now active.
Value is being set by handling, temperature, and condition.
Pressure is building across key fisheries.
Programme Status — Current Position
What is operating onboard — not what is planned
Silver Wave — Phase 1 development completed at sea
Annadale II — Integrated deployment in progress
Vision V — Vessel-specific definition in progress to enhance tailing and grading for frozen product
Trial Updates & Future Roadmap
What is being proven under real fishing conditions
Chilling and temperature control
Handling and workflow integration
Grading consistency and throughput
Value Is Now Set Onboard — Not at Landing
Traceability determines whether product moves.
Handling and temperature determine what it is worth.
The fleet is now starting to respond.
Where Value Is Now Created
- Access to market = documentation
- Price = condition
- Margin = consistency
Value is no longer recovered at sale.
It is either protected onboard — or lost before landing.
What This Means for the Fleet
- Handling now directly influences return
- Consistency is increasingly expected
- Poor control results in avoidable loss
The difference is no longer how much is caught —
but how much value is retained.
Built at Sea. Progressing Across the Fleet.
Tide 2030 is a vessel-led initiative focused on how Nephrops are handled, graded, and presented from vessel to shore.
What began as onboard development under real fishing conditions is now progressing into live deployment across working vessels.
Systems are operating at sea, with further installations and vessel-specific configurations now underway.
Programme Progression
- Silver Wave → Phase 1 complete (system established under commercial conditions)
- Annadale II → Deployment in progress (integration within vessel workflow)
- Vision V → Vessel-specific definition in progress to enhance tailing and grading for frozen product
The programme now spans chilled and freezer vessel types.
Observation to Participation
A limited number of vessels are currently engaged in live development, installation and deployment.
Participation is structured and selective, based on vessel fit and readiness.
